Hi,

Highlights from the past week and things that are scheduled:

a) V2 design of the AmbaSat-1 mainboard is done. There are some refinements needed to PCB tracks, labels and component layout. We should get this to the PCB manufacturer this week. Once the design has been tested it will be uploaded to Github.

b) Delivery of sample Solarboards is expected on Wednesday 18th September. We’ll upload images and video of these.

c) Also expected is delivery of the first GPS daughterboards. Ditto for images and video.

d) We’ll be attending the UK Space Conference next week. More details here: https://www.ukspace2019.co.uk/ehome/index.php?eventid=200183909&

e) UK Space Agency – acknowledged receipt of our completed ‘Traffic Light’ answers. Now awaiting the outcome.

f) Sensor choice options – these should be sent out over the coming week via Kickstarter.

g) Dashboard coding is going well. TTN integration is underway. We’ll have a fuller update on this in an upcoming report.

h) Soldering of the MCU and gyroscope. Some good points made on the AmbaSat forum about the potential difficulties in soldering these two components. We are hoping to offer these as a pre-soldered option for all backers. For the prototype satellite board we’ve used our reflow solder station. Quick video here: https://youtu.be/JhsWVs7-ZvI

i) Daughterboard design for the remaining sensors underway.

That’s all we know 🙂

As always, thank you all for your continued support.

The AMBASAT team!
