It’s been a very busy few weeks but as always, we’ve been working hard to deliver AmbaSat kits. We also have some exciting news related to an Amazon deal, new office space and new recruitment opportunities. Please see the AmbaSat blog for more details. However, we’ll keep this update specific to backers, as follows:
AMBASAT-1 ASSEMBLED
We’re very pleased to report that AmbaSat-1 Assembled Satellite Kits will be shipping starting this month. These will be shipped in batches, starting with Sensor 03s (BME680s) and Sensor 06s (UV). Other sensor types will follow as we complete testing. Please note that each assembled satellite does undergo ‘soak’ testing prior to shipping.
AMBASAT-1 KITS
We are still shipping final self-assembly KITS. If you backed a KIT version of AmbaSat-1 and are waiting, please be assured that we are getting to your order. As mentioned in the last update, if you would like to know where yours is in the queue, please email shipping@ambasat.com
SOLARBOARDS
We are expecting a second assembled batch from our supplier over the next week. The panels are very fragile and take some care during handling and assembly. Because of this, the batches are delivered in low volume until we are confident that the process is working.
SHIPPING ISSUES – ROYAL MAIL
Whilst the majority of packages have reached their destination with no problems, we’ve had a few kits which have been returned as ‘undelivered’ or reported as ‘lost’. Please note that all packages (Kits & Assembled) are shipped using Royal Mail Tracked and Signed-for. We have seen SOME delivery times of 6 weeks where normally we would expect a maximum of 10 days. Much of this delay can be attributed to COVID19. When we ship your package, we email you on the same day with tracking details. You can follow your AmbaSat-1’s delivery using the link in your shipping email.
UPGRADED AMBASAT-1 KITS + AMAZON DISTRIBUTION
Thank you for all your excellent feedback. We’ve listened and are pleased to announce a new version of the AmbaSat-1 kit (see pictures) will be available very soon. We plan to start shipping these as soon as we can get production sign-off. All being well these will be available soon through Amazon. More on this shortly.
