A momentous occasion! We are very pleased to announce shipping of the first batch of AmbaSat-1 Satellite Kits.
Thank you to all Sensor-01 backers who have already replied to last week’s email. For those of you who have indicated that you are happy to do a full self-assembly, we have begun shipping your kits out. For those Sensor-01 backers still to respond, please let us know as soon as you can so that we can get the rest of the kits shipped.
Next up is Sensor-02 so for those backers, please expect an email next week regarding your choices. We will be speeding up the delivery of other sensor types as more parts arrive.
Sensor board supplies: We’ve been hit with a slight delay of sensor boards due to Chinese New Year. Whilst we design and assemble the satellites in the UK, we currently get the boards manufactured in China. Unfortunately, due to ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus, our Chinese supplier has indicated that our next board shipment will be 6th February.
For those who have requested either full or partial assembly of your satellite, once we have the test results from the remaining sensor boards (and assuming everything is OK), we can give the team at Mowden the go-ahead to start the full production run.
We’ve also had a lot of interest regarding the AmbaSat-1 Educational Course. We’re currently putting this together and will be providing more details in coming blog posts.
As always, thank you for your patience and support.
The AmbaSat Team.
